Beginner IK
This course is designed with the first-time beginner in mind. In the course you will learn skills and techniques that will allow you to build confidence off and, on the water.
Advanced IK
This course is designed with the learning kayaker in mind. in this course, you will learn to master strokes and maneuvers, basic kayak safety and rescue, how to intentionally move your boat in flatwater and whitewater, navigate the channel, and potentially learn to start kayak surfing in the waves.

Participant Requirements
- Participants must be at least 13 years of age
- Able to fit into a whitewater lifejacket and helmet
- Comfortable swimming/floating with a lifejacket in moving water
Skills You'll Learn
- Basic Whitewater awareness and Safety
- Fundamental Kayaking paddle stroke (forward/reverse/sweep)
- How to maneuver downriver through drops in current
- Build confidence maneuvering the kayak on the water
Schedule
- Classes are 3 hours long with buffer time to get equipped at the beginning and end
- Class instruction runs for 2 hours
- Rental equipment for the class is good for 4 total hours, so participants can continue on their own after the instruction portion is over
