River-surfing is an emerging activity across the country, and local retailers haven’t quite caught up with demand so finding river-specific surfboard can sometimes be tricky.
Unfortunately, there are not currently any retailers in the area that sell surfboards. We source our rental boards form Badfishsup.com, another online retailer are Catchsurf.com. If you are looking for a higher end board check out Corridor Surf at surfboise.com, they are a river-specific surf shop.
What Surfboard do I Need?
Surfboard selection is primarily based on two things: weight and wave. Below are the different types of boards we rent at WOKA.
The Wavo Wiki is the all-around beginner board, stable and surfable, anyone can get on one of these boards and have a good time standing up on the wave.
This is our basic beginner board which is recommended for those wanting to see if they are interested in trying out surfing.
The Wave Bandit is the first step for those younger surfers looking to get out on the waves.
The Wave Bandit Performer Mini is the ultimate soft surfboard for younger or smaller surfers, ready to shred their first waves or rip like the pros! At 4’10” with a twin-fin setup, it’s quick and responsive in small to mid-size surf, while the soft-top construction keeps you safe.
The 54 Special is the standard performance board, that will be the perfect surfer for any wave at WOKA.
This provides excellent speed down the line, but super-responsive turning once the rail is engaged. The 54 Special is a step forward in design and performance that pushes the boundaries of what is possible on a soft surfboard.
The Softech Flash is the big brother board, capable of tearing up the waves, while still providing some stability.
For those looking for a longer board experience, with a little extra volume hits is the board for you. Still short enough to comfortably surf and carve on all the WOKA waves, it will give you extra stability for bigger riders.
This board has been customer designed for the WOKA surf wave, by Corridor Surf in Boise, ID.
This board will provide an unlimited possibilities for the experienced river surfer, shredding and carving with ease.
