Whitewater Kayaking at WOKA
Whitewater kayaking is done in specifically designed boats, that are made to ride the waves. They are made by several different styles and brands for different purposes. The Arkansas Canoe Club is the go-to for all things paddling related in Arkansas and Oklahoma, there are two local chapter that frequent WOKA: the Dustbowl Chapter based in Tulsa, and the NWA Chapter based in Fayetteville. The Arkansas Canoe Club puts on various events, and provides instruction and community equipment to its members, for more info check out their facebook page, or go to their website.
Friends of WOKA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that was founded to promote community and events around WOKA, both the whitewater park and bike trails. Friends of WOKA is a partner in events such as community days during the summer, as well as the annual WOKAFest each year in October. They work to engage various user groups in schools and local organizations to increase paddling, surfing, and biking at the park.
